The EXCEL program is designed to facilitate youth in obtaining and utilizing the skills necessary for employment and independent living. We are committed to providing youth with a quality, comprehensive vocational/educational service.

EXCEL was established to provide youth with employment training, placement and retention services to facilitate individuals obtaining economic self-sufficiency. Its mission is to prepare students to enter the workforce, facilitate youth succeeding in the workforce, provide opportunities for youth to increase their job skills and education and to service as a model of effective design, delivery and management for youth employment programs.

The EXCEL program provides the following services:

Job Lab Classes
Topics include choosing a job, reading employment ads, completing job applications, interviewing and designing a resume.

Job Placement Services
Assists youth with obtaining and maintaining employment.

Educational Services
Assists youth in pursuing a variety of educational opportunities such as GED preparation, high school graduation and college acceptance.

Tutoring Services
Through volunteers, youth are assisted with homework and GED preparation.

Career Planning
Individual services to assist youth in planning their careers.
