advocacy
Our young people don’t have
much of a voice on their own. One part of our mission at
Covenant House New Jersey is to represent the homeless
street youth and to help them express themselves,
making sure the decision makers at all levels of government
and private industry consider the needs of these youth. Check
back here often to see how you can help.
11-30-07: Take Action! Urge
Speaker Joseph Roberts to Post Parity Legislation TODAY!
You can help make Mental Health and
Addiction Parity a reality in this legislative session.
The
General Assembly leadership has heard parity advocate
voices but we're in a pitched battle with opponents who
are working overtime to defeat and water down S-807/A-2512
in the final days of the current "lame
duck" session.
We're almost there but each of us must
ACT
AGAIN TODAY.
Urge Speaker Joe Roberts to make S-807/A-2512 a priority
by posting it for a vote by the full General Assembly on
December 13th, 2007 and also urge him to resist special
interest efforts at defeating this legislation. Click
here to contact Speaker Roberts. |
