How Can I Help Homeless Youth ?

Here are some ways that you can help us to continue and enhance the service we provide to
New Jersey’s homeless young people.

You can play a pivotal role in helping a young person get off the streets by. . .

1.    Feeding a Covenant House New Jersey homeless youth for a week.

2.    Buying diapers for 12 babies at Raphael’s Life House, a transitional living program for young homeless mothers.

3.    Helping a young person obtain medical care: a full physical, blood work, and immunizations during their first visit to Covenant House New Jersey’s medical office.

4.    Helping a young person obtain a job. This package includes a week of training, new clothes and transportation to the interview.

5.    Sponsoring one week of outreach, which includes gas for the outreach van and food for the homeless kids we encounter on the street.

6.    Helping two kids stay at Covenant House New Jersey for 2 weeks. This includes a safe haven with a warm bed, a warm plate of food, and clean clothes to wear.

Pray for our staff and kids…Please pray for the kids who have come through our doors, as well as those who we haven’t yet found. Please also include our staff, so that they may be their most loving and dedicated to all of our kids.

Donations…Much of the work of Covenant House New Jersey is supported by the generosity of thousands of families throughout the state. Contributions can be sent to our Newark address and we can provide you with postage-paid envelopes for ongoing gifts.

Naming & Memorial Gift Opportunities…Covenant House New Jersey offers opportunities to make a lasting tribute by designating a specific area or program service in your family name, to honor a special person, or to remember a departed loved one. Please contact us for pricing and other details.

In-Home Receptions…Some of our most beneficial and entertaining events began as small dinner parties in the homes of people who were interested in doing something for our kids. If you would like more information on this option, or to talk to people who have done it, please contact us.

Employment for Youth…When young people come to us, they want a second chance. They begin to realize that they have to work hard to move ahead in life and become a success. Luckily, many of them follow their plans and are able to find jobs within a few months of being at Covenant House. If you would like to help our young people out by offering them employment, please contact us anytime.
