WHO DO YOU SERVE?
Covenant House is the largest provider in the state to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth between the ages of 16-21. We serve all young men and women regardless of race, color, or creed. We also serve pregnant youth and their babies.^
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?
Covenant House New Jersey provides a wide range of services, from fulfilling a youth's immediate needs of food, shelter and clothing, to providing them with medical care, educational and vocational services, counseling, legal services, life skills, education, recreation, aftercare, pastoral care, drug abuse treatment and prevention support. HOW CAN I GET HELP?
If you are a youth in distress in New Jersey, or know someone who is, please call us at 973-621-8705 in Newark or 609-348-4070 in Atlantic City. DO YOU ONLY HELP KIDS WHO ARE CATHOLIC?
Covenant House was founded in the Catholic tradition and therefore respects the fundamentals of the church; however, we have an open-intake policy and no young person is ever turned away regardless of his or her religious beliefs. We foster non-denominational spirituality in our youth, and through Pastoral Ministry, we connect youth to religious organizations of their choice in the local community.^
HOW MANY KIDS STAY WITH CHNJ EACH NIGHT?
Currently we serve 118 youth statewide, plus 19 babies each night. There are 45 beds at our Crisis Center in Newark, 14 at Newark Rights of Passage, 12 moms and their babies at Raphael's Life House, 27 beds at our Crisis Center in Atlantic City and 7 cribs for babies, and 20 beds at Atlantic City Rights of Passage. As of January 2009, we will serve 132 youth statewide as 14 beds will open at Nancy's Place in Montclair.^
DOES COVENANT HOUSE ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS?
There are many opportunities to volunteer on-site as well as in your own community! We have monthly volunteer orientations and would love to have you on-board. Please contact our Volunteer Manager in North Jersey at 973-286-3544 or in South Jersey at 609-348-4070.^

HOW ARE YOU FUNDED?
Covenant House New Jersey receives private and public funds to sustain its operations. CHNJ is supported by government agencies at the federal, state, county and city levels, as well as private foundations, for-profit companies, and individual donors.^

WHY DO I RECEIVE MAIL FROM COVENANT HOUSE IN NEW YORK?
Many people receive mail from our corporate parent in New York City, Covenant House International. Covenant House International is the largest privately-funded agency in the Americas providing shelter and other services to homeless, runaway and throwaway youth. Incorporated in New York City in 1972, Covenant House International has facilities in 21 cities throughout the United States, Canada, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua. HOW CAN I MAKE SURE MY DONATION GOES TO NEW JERSEY IF I SEND IT TO COVENANT HOUSE INTERNATIONAL IN NEW YORK?
Covenant House International sends a percentage of funds to its facilities based on the zip code from which the donation was sent. If you want 100% of your donation to go directly to New Jersey, please send it to the attention of the Development Director, 330 Washington Street, Newark, New Jersey. ^
